hey there! happy 2015!
posting a few more photos from my vietnam trip in nov 2014.
the flavours in this seeming humble local delight was just out of this world. i dont even know what they put inside but they sure taste good. i believe there was egg, pork slices, veggies, chilli sauce, maybe even cheese all married together in a lightly toasted baguette. and then maybe doused with some fragrant shallots. it was delicious and really worth getting our hands dirty and chins dripping with the sauces. this, was from The Banh Mi Queen, a little off the beaten track in the old town, but not hard to find and certainly popular with the locals and tourists.
the shop is unpretentious and the owners live at the back of their shop, which is not well decorated with fancy furniture or air-conditioned like many other eateries in the area. you know u’ve found a jem when u see handmade letters with recommendations pasted inside a glass cabinet.
the outdoor rainshower which i miss so dearly..
after our lovely vacation, December was a flurry of events one after another that i felt i could barely breathe. haha.
hope 2015 has been starting out to be great for many of you!
